Behavioral Health MEDICAL ASSISTANT I (FULL TIME)

Position Overview

KKV, a community-rooted organization founded in 1972 to address health inequities for Kalihi’s low-income, largely immigrant Asian and Pacific Islander residents, is hiring for a FULL TIME position in the BEHAVIORAL HEALTH department. This role plays a vital part in ensuring smooth front desk operations at our Community Health Center and supporting our team of Providers through scheduling, patient check-ins, behavioral health screening, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee front desk operations including patient check-ins and appointment scheduling.
• Assist Providers, including Psychiatrists and Therapists, with day-to-day clinical tasks.
• Perform behavioral health screening and administer injections as required.
• Call in prescriptions and support case management efforts.
• Provide psychosocial and crisis support services, including making referrals to community providers.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively in a team setting with a multi-cultural staff and client population.
• Education: High School Diploma is required.
• Certifications: Medical Assistant Certificate or RN credentials from another country and CPR Certification are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year experience working in a community health setting.
• Experience as a Medical Assistant or in the nursing field.
