Position Overview

This critical leadership role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and is a pivotal position within the senior leadership team, offering the opportunity to drive operational excellence, mentor a diverse team, and spearhead strategic initiatives that shape the future of production. Location: Cincinnati, OH.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Execution – Develop, implement, and lead the manufacturing strategy aligning with overall business objectives and market demands.
  • Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement – Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics Integration – Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and logistics teams to optimize raw material flow, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance – Oversee quality control systems ensuring that products meet or exceed industry standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Stewardship & P&L Management – Manage budgets, control costs, and drive efficiency initiatives to achieve financial targets while maintaining quality and safety.
  • Team Leadership & Talent Development – Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing manufacturing team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
  • Innovation, Technology & Digital Transformation – Evaluate and integrate automation, Industry 4.0 solutions, and other cutting-edge technologies to enhance production capabilities.
  • Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Leadership – Establish and enforce robust safety and environmental protocols to ensure a secure and sustainable workplace.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with R&D, Marketing, Sales, and Engineering to ensure seamless integration of new product introductions and process improvements.
  • Risk Management & Business Continuity – Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies along with robust business continuity plans.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical), Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • Experience Required: A minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations with at least 7-10 years at a senior executive level within the consumer goods industry.
  • Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies (Black Belt certification preferred), ERP systems implementation, advanced automation, and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Requirements: Deep understanding of consumer goods manufacturing processes including packaging, assembly, quality control, and supply chain dynamics, along with familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA) and international standards.
  • Responsibilities: Proven leadership ability in managing large, diverse teams, with strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, change management, and significant P&L responsibility experience.
  • Location: Willingness to reside in or commute to the Cincinnati, Ohio metropolitan area.
