Job Description

Position Overview

Cardinal Financial is a nationwide direct mortgage lender committed to innovation and providing the very best experience for its borrowers, partners, and employees. As a Loan Originator, you will educate customers on company values, various loan options, and operational processes while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine the feasibility of granting loans.
  • Obtain and compile copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial data.
  • Explain various types of loans and credit options, along with their associated terms, to customers.
  • Review loan agreements for completeness and accuracy in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain customer confidence by ensuring all loan information remains confidential.
  • Keep licenses current by participating in required continuing education courses.
  • Collaborate with sales, processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing, and management teams to provide outstanding customer service.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a Loan Originator.
  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license as required by the SAFE Act (with potential multi-state licensing).
  • Solid foundation of mortgage industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multi-faceted direction and planning in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly developed computer and technology skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented capabilities.
  • Ability to take direction, comprehend training, and work effectively within a team structure.
  • Proven track record of exceptional sales performance and self-motivation.
