Position Overview
Assume the role of a Medical Assistant at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD USA and join a dedicated team in the MHHVI Cardiology department. Here, you will deliver compassionate, patient-focused care in an ambulatory clinic setting while working 32 scheduled weekly hours. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the examination and treatment zones according to clinic regulations.
- Perform patient rooming tasks including recording vital signs and gathering necessary data.
- Accurately handle and document single-unit medications/immunizations following clinic policies after training and competency assessment.
- Execute EKG procedures and laboratory tests in compliance with the clinic’s CLIA license after proper training and demonstration of competency.
- Ensure patient record documentation is accurate, concise, and comprehensible; function as a provider scribe after training if needed.
- Perform clerical assignments and supervise the maintenance and procurement of supplies.
- Assist in setting up appointments for follow-up care based on given instructions.
- Provide pre-approved patient education resources and direct patient inquiries to the provider or RN.
- Perform additional duties as allocated in line with Monument Health’s Scope of Responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an approved nursing education program as recognized by a board of nursing.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification as required by the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of Healthcare Experience.
