Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the city's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accountants, ensuring their professional development and growth.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the city's financial records and transactions.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to city leadership for improved financial decision making.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to develop and monitor departmental budgets.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and address any financial discrepancies or issues.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the city's financial processes.
• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and regulatory agencies.
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills by effectively managing a team and promoting a positive work culture.
• Represent the city in financial matters and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
