An innovative Hi-Tech engineering company located in Virginia (USA) who specialise in the industry of Aviation and Aerospace for satellite electronics are seeking to hire a new Embedded Software Engineer to join the growing team and business on a permanent basis. This role is open and would be excellent for a Senior, Prinicpal and Senior Staff Embedded Software Engineer.
Salary on offer:
The annual salary on offer for the successful Embedded Software Engineer is $130,000-$185,000 per annum, depending on skillset and experience.
Summary of the Embedded Software Engineering Role:
The successful Embedded Software Engineer will lead and be working on cutting edge technology for the design and implementation of end to end embedded software development of software components across flight and ground systems that include and integrate with FPGA and electrical subsystems.
Embedded Software Engineer Key Skills:
- Education - Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5-10+ industry years experience in embedded or systems software engineering
- Embedded Software Programming in C, C++
- Experience of Embedded Linux, Yocto, Buildroot, Bitbake
- RTOS - FreeRTOS, VxWorks, Zephyr or similar
- Experience in integrating software with custom hardware or FPGA logic
- Network interfaces – SPI, I2C, USB, UART, RS232/485, CAN, PCIe, Ethernet, TCP/IP
- Experience of Bare Metal, Linux BSP and device driver development - Bonus
- Experience in Python, MATLAB, or other automation frameworks - Bonus
- Experience of debugging, CI/CD Build systems, code reviews, unit/integration testing
- Version Control Systems – GIT, JIRA, SVN
- Industry experience - Spacecraft, Satellite Electronics, Aerospace, Safety Critical, Mission-Safety Critical - Bonus
