Position Overview

As an Electrical Engineering Project Director for Gas Power Generation, you will be a key leader in our expanding Energy & Power Solutions team.
In this role you will be responsible for the electrical engineering design of large-scale, grid-connected gas-fired simple cycle or combined cycle power plants,
guide multidisciplinary teams, and work closely with clients including utilities and independent power producers while helping to shape innovative energy solutions across North America.
This position offers exceptional geographic flexibility and requires a commitment of at least 3 days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering teams in the planning and design of natural gas or dual fuel combustion turbine generation projects.
  • Serve as the engineer in responsible charge for electrical designs of power generation plants.
  • Oversee engineering design activities and guide both domestic and global staff in producing deliverables.
  • Mentor and manage less experienced electrical engineering staff members.
  • Collaborate with clients as an owner’s engineer or partner to produce detailed designs or concept-level solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of engineering design and/or consulting experience, including work with medium voltage power generation systems.
  • Professional Engineering licensure (any US state).
  • Strong passion for mentoring and developing junior technical staff.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Availability to travel as required (typically less than 50%).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical engineering design for EPC delivery of simple cycle and/or combined cycle gas turbine power plants (>100MW capacity).
  • Proven success in global delivery, collaborating effectively with design teams around the world.
  • Expertise in proposal development, project execution planning, and scope/man-hour estimation for engineering services.
  • Experience with power system modeling using ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or similar software.
  • Familiarity with protection and control systems, SCADA, or power system automation.
