Job Description

Position Overview

Rockwell Automation is a global technology leader focused on helping the world’s manufacturers be more productive, sustainable, and agile. As an Application Consultant, you will support sellers by engaging engineering, operations, and procurement teams to position Rockwell Automation as a delivery partner, drive growth with target customers, and collaborate during critical negotiations. Reporting to the Application Consulting Manager, this role offers a dynamic environment along with a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead scope definition and articulate differentiators and values versus competition for designated products, services, or solutions.
  • Guide and support other Application Consultants, especially those specializing in drive systems.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Consultants, and Specialists to assess and respond to IT/OT, engineering, consulting, project, and support services opportunities.
  • Forecast processes, conduct opportunity cadence reviews with distributor partners, and manage their funnel.
  • Oversee the process from bid requests and information gathering through scope definition, solution design, costing, and approvals.
  • Work alongside Sales, Solution Consultants, Sales Specialists, Engineering, Services, and regional/global proposal teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US; note that visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • A valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of pre-sales, direct sales, or consulting experience in roles such as estimator, proposal engineer, or similar positions.
  • Willingness to travel 25% to customer locations within the assigned geography.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Rockwell Automation’s application value, including knowledge of automation products such as PLCs, Standard Drives, Software, Networks, and third-party products.
