Job Description
Position Overview
Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery at Texas Health Denton’s expanding Women’s Services department. Work in a state‐of‐the‐art facility with a “Best Place to Have a Baby” designation, serving a dynamic labor & delivery unit complete with LDRs, OR suites, recovery and antepartum rooms, OB/ED, postpartum/newborn care, and an expanded Level III Neonatal ICU. This full-time role (36 hours weekly, three 12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM) offers excellent Compensation (salary range of $27.50 - $52.88 per hour, great shift differentials, and a sign on bonus of $8,000 for eligible new hires) in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver care using the Nursing Process: assess patients, plan care, intervene appropriately, and evaluate outcomes.
- Incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiate actions to meet patient and family needs for information.
- Maintain continuity of patient care between shifts and during inter-hospital transfers.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing is required (BSN is preferred).
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support certification through the American Heart Association, effective upon hire.
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 90 days of hire.
- IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required within 12 months of hire.
- STABLE program certification required within 6 months of hire.
- At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience or completion of an RN residency program.
Preferred Qualifications
- More than 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with triage, labor and delivery, circulation, recovery, and patient monitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills with Medical Management application systems.
