Position Overview
Join the Team at Las Vegas Urology - Where Patient Care Comes First! Las Vegas Urology, a well-respected and growing practice serving the Las Vegas community for decades, is seeking a Medical Assistant who is patient-focused, dependable, and thrives in a team-based environment. You will support our clinical team and physicians in delivering excellent patient care through hands-on procedures, documentation, and patient education. This role involves working in a busy clinic environment that requires physical stamina and comfort with various clinical and clerical tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Rooming patients and preparing them for exams
- Assisting with in-office procedures and setting up instruments
- Managing control logs and ensuring compliance documentation
- Performing wound checks, suture/staple removal, and educating patients on wound care
- Specimen collection and handling (venipuncture, urinalysis, prostate tissue)
- Administering injections (Lupron, Depo-Provera, Testosterone, Collagen testing)
- Catheter insertions/removals, voiding trials, bladder instillations, and teaching self-catheterization
- Conducting impotence testing (Doppler, Biothesiometry)
- Reviewing lab results and communicating with patients
- Preparing charts and handling patient calls, including general clerical duties (scanning, faxing, emails, record keeping)
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure, and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with clinical and clerical functions in a medical setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
