Position Overview
In the U.S. Navy, specialized training in Information Technology and cybersecurity paves the way for diverse careers in IT support, computer programming, web development, and information security. As an enlisted Sailor, you may serve as an Information Systems Technician, Cryptologic Technician Networks, or Intelligence Specialist – each playing a critical role in ensuring that vital networks remain operational and secure while supporting mission readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- As an Information Systems Technician, design, operate, and troubleshoot networked computer systems to ensure uninterrupted communications and data integrity.
- In the role of Cryptologic Technician Networks, execute offensive and defensive cyber operations to protect critical Navy networks and track adversarial threats.
- As an Intelligence Specialist, gather and analyze diverse data—from global cultures to enemy movements—and prepare intelligence briefings for high-ranking officials.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizen or equivalent
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must meet enlistment eligibility, including being between the ages of 18 and 34
- At least 17 years of age (for initial qualification)
