Position Overview

DLR Group has an opening for an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will participate in the design process of mechanical building systems—from schematics to construction administration—by preparing detailed mechanical engineering drawings and performing design calculations. As part of our integrated design teams, you will create buildings that elevate the human experience through design. Additionally, as an Emerging Professional, you’ll join our EPX program that offers mentorship, work experience, and weekly classes to build a strong foundation and guide your growth within the design profession.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
  • Develop mechanical designs from concept through construction completion.
  • Prepare engineering design calculations and layouts.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
  • Coordinate mechanical design requirements with architecture, structure, and other disciplines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (ABET accredited) in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship, co-op experience or full-time position with a consulting engineering or A/E firm.
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
  • Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit MEP) workflow.
  • Experience and interest in sustainable building design.
