Hazen and Sawyer is seeking mid-level engineers for our South Florida Offices to work on water-related assignments in various engineering disciplines (Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Structural, etc.). Key Responsibilities
- Participation in the evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, stormwater, reuse, and infrastructure projects
- Working within a project team from the initial study and conceptual design stages through to the construction of major water-related infrastructure projects
- Conducting fieldwork and site visits during both design and construction phases
- Other responsibilities may include:
- Project management of a large project or several small projects
- Client development and management supported by local offices
- Planning, organizing, and supervising staff of engineers on projects
Required Qualifications
- PE license (FL or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment)
- 5-10 years of experience in planning, design, or construction of water-related projects
- Experience in preparing conceptual/feasibility studies, developing construction drawings and specifications, bidding assistance, and supporting office and field construction services
- Familiarity with engineering and construction management software
- Ability to supervise staff and manage small projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience interacting with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Proficiency in common computer software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills
- B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited U.S. program (other engineering degrees considered on a case-by-case basis)
- Proficiency in GIS, CAD/BIM, BioWin, PowerBI, and other related software
