Qualifications

Do you have a firm understanding of traffic engineering principles?

Do you have project related experience with traffic signal design plans, signal timing, corridor studies, traffic impact studies, traffic operation studies, traffic control plans, traffic simulation modeling, roundabout studies, and safety studies AND a working knowledge of the latest traffic engineering and simulation programs such as HCS, Synchro, PTV Vistro/VISSIM and SIDRA?

This position can be located in any of five Neel-Schaffer offices – Nashville, Murfreesboro or Chattanooga in Tennessee, or Huntsville or Birmingham in Alabama. Minimum Requirements

• BSCE from an ABET – accredited university.
• Licensed professional registration in Tennessee, or the ability to obtain licensing within six months.
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE), preferred.
• 8+ years of experience with progressive traffic / transportation experience.

Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to produce and manage project deliverables.
• Proficiency with traffic engineering software, Microstation, GIS data visualization or equivalent design platforms.
• Skill and desire to work directly with and exceed expectation of client base.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan and conceptualize.
