Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and forward-thinking Agronomist & Crop Science Specialist to join their fully remote agricultural technology team. In this role, you will provide expert advice and develop innovative strategies for sustainable crop production, yield optimization, and pest management while collaborating with farmers, agricultural businesses, and research institutions. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze soil samples, crop health, and environmental data to provide tailored recommendations.
- Develop and implement integrated crop management plans for diverse agricultural systems.
- Advise on crop rotation, fertilization, irrigation, and pest/disease control strategies.
- Research and evaluate new crop varieties, seed treatments, and agricultural technologies.
- Monitor agricultural trends and market dynamics to inform strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with research teams on field trials and data collection for new product development.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and stakeholders on best agricultural practices.
- Contribute to the development of digital agriculture tools and platforms.
- Analyze the economic viability and environmental impact of proposed agricultural strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, research summaries, and educational materials.
- Stay current with scientific advancements in agronomy, plant science, and sustainable agriculture.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement within the agricultural sector.
- Network with industry professionals and participate in relevant conferences (virtually or in-person as needed).
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, Agricultural Science, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of experience in agronomy, crop management, or agricultural research.
- Strong understanding of soil science, plant physiology, entomology, and pathology.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation of agricultural data.
- Experience with precision agriculture techniques and technologies is a strong asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
- Familiarity with GIS software and remote sensing technologies is beneficial.
- Knowledge of sustainable and organic farming practices is desirable.
- Passion for agriculture and a commitment to improving food production systems.
