AMD's NTSG - Network Technology Solutions Group, working on the AMD Pensando DPU technology adopted by some of the industry's largest enterprise and cloud service providers, is seeking a specialized Network and System Administrator. This role is pivotal in improving the reliability of our infrastructure and driving next-generation network operations and system monitoring tools to ensure high availability for our engineering community.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in network and system administration and is adept at communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, update, and maintain hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls and access controls, and monitor for potential threats.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, outages, and performance problems.
- Create, manage, and delete user accounts, and set user permissions and access levels.
- Perform regular data backups and ensure the ability to recover systems in case of failure.
- Monitor system performance and capacity to ensure optimal operation.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on hardware and software.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated strong background in network and system administration to enhance infrastructure reliability.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale network infrastructure with hundreds of systems.
- Proficiency in both Linux and Windows system administration.
- Knowledge of routing and switching technologies.
- Hands-on experience in storage management, including user home directories, storage volumes, and backup solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to communicate effectively.
