Entry Level Mechanical Designer - Multiple Sectors
As an entry level mechanical designer at Henderson Engineers, you will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to our six market sectors – including Business, Community, Grocery & Distribution, Health, Retail, and Venue. Within each sector, we seamlessly integrate our engineering knowledge with the in‑the‑field experience of our sister company, Henderson Building Solutions, to deliver a client experience unlike any other in the industry.

Location: New York
Salary: New York Salary Range: $75,925 - $113,887; Los Angeles Salary Range: $72,191 - $108,286; Denver Salary Range: $68,457 - $102,685; Philadelphia Salary Range: $68,457 - $102,685; Las Vegas Salary Range: $65,345 - $98,018
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibilities: Performs calculations and designs basic engineering systems in collaboration with experienced design staff.
- Responsibilities: Prepares system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
- Responsibilities: Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Responsibilities: Prepares or modifies reports, plans, and designs for projects.
- Responsibilities: Supports business development or pursuit activities.
- Responsibilities: Participates in client, company and/or industry events to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Responsibilities: Occasionally visits job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
- Responsibilities: Seeks to fill gaps in industry and/or discipline knowledge on a continuous basis.
- Responsibilities: Maintains knowledge of common industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of engineering (e.g.: mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural) and one year of experience, or 3 years of experience without a degree required.
- Basic proficiency in engineering design: basic knowledge of the A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards.
- Understanding of the fundamental principles of HVAC design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu software.
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
