Position Overview

Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid). We give our guests the Medallion Class experience others simply can't. The Love Boat promises something for everyone. We're looking for an amazing Staff Accountant. This is a hybrid, in-office role based in our Seattle, WA office. You'll be responsible for supporting HAP Alaska / Yukon land operations by performing intermediate accounting activities related to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements, preparing analysis, calculations and reconciliations of a variety of financial documents in preparation of financial close. This person will also carry out staff level responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies, objectives and applicable government laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participates in monthly and quarter-end close activities including analysis for journal entry preparation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepares complex journal entries (debit and credits), as well as miscellaneous entries or adjustments, to record operation revenue and related costs.
  • Provides timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and supports documentation with focus on operational efficiencies and GAAP compliance on a monthly basis.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions from operations by researching and interpreting corporate accounting policies.
  • Trains operation staff on accounting procedures and system use.
  • Reviews financial information and conducts sales audits of various forms of payment against source documentation.
  • Assists in gathering information for various internal and external audits.

Required Qualifications

  • High School completion or equivalent required.
  • This job requires a professional level of knowledge in accounting equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree; Finance or Accounting majors preferred.
  • Minimum of two years related experience in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications including Microsoft Office, Excel is a must.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including working beyond normal business hours to support business needs, projects or operations.
