Position Overview

As a Systems Engineer intern at our Mission Systems sector in Baltimore, MD, you will support the Airborne Multifunction Sensors (AMS) division. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn new skills, network with experts, and gain hands‐on experience while contributing to global security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and testing of advanced sensor systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system engineering projects.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development throughout the 10‐week summer internship.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and enrolled full-time in Fall 2026.
  • Major in Math, Physics, Systems Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher.

  • Compensation: Internship pay range varies with Bachelor's level at $19.75–$36.25 and Master's level at $28.50–$44.75. Northrop Grumman also considers factors such as graduation date, geographic location, and technical requirements.
