Full Job Description

Jas. W. Glover, Ltd. is seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Testing Technician (QC Tech) to support our construction materials testing operations primarily on Oahu and Kauai, with assignments on other islands as needed. An entry-level technician will assist and learn from senior technicians the following duties:

• Sampling, testing, calculation, and reporting test data
• Conducting on-field testing of asphalt and concrete mixtures
• Drilling cores in the field

Other responsibilities include:

• Maintaining cleanliness of equipment, laboratory facilities, and company property
• Complying with all safety standards, rules and regulations set by the company.
• Providing help to senior technicians and/or the department manager

Requirements:

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Must have a high school diploma, equivalent or higher education
• Must be able to do basic math (add, subtract, divide, multiply)
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds of material samples
• Must be willing to travel to neighboring islands for work (company provides airfare, accommodation, and overnight subsistence).
• Comply with all safety standards, rules and regulations set by the company
• Must be able to obtain necessary security clearance to work on various State and Federal projects
• Current Drivers License with clean record
• Must be willing to learn new tasks related to laboratory work
