Position Overview
Tremco Construction Products Group (CPG), part of RPM International Inc., is a global leader in building envelope solutions. In this role, you will begin in the Felt or Roofing Department at the East 80th Cleveland Manufacturing Plant where you will start up, troubleshoot, and operate production equipment safely while achieving production standards. This position starts on the 1st Shift and, after a successful probationary period, may transition to the 2nd or 3rd shift based on plant needs. This is a UAW Local 70 - Union Position.
3-SHIFT FACILITY SCHEDULE:
- 1st Shift: 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- 2nd Shift: 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (Shift Differential of $0.75)
- 3rd Shift: 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. (Shift Differential of $1.00)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform work safely in accordance with safety rules and Tremco’s Escalation Policy for any safety or quality concerns.
- Communicate effectively with the Team Lead and/or Supervisor during shift changes and throughout the shift.
- Operate the HMI at various stations to ensure the production line runs safely and efficiently.
- Monitor weight, speed, and other critical metrics along the production line.
- Operate a forklift to move raw materials, load carriers, and transport finished products.
- Prepare raw material batches in the appropriate mixer(s) according to specifications.
- Perform quality control tests on batches following established guidelines.
- Ensure correct labels are applied on the taping machine.
- Fill and label appropriate-sized pails, drums, or totes and place them on pallets.
- Carry out daily housekeeping and cleaning of your work area and other nearby areas as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- No prior education or experience required.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, fractions, etc.).
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions.
- Must be physically capable of standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing, balancing, kneeling, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or a similar industry.
- Forklift Certificate and operations experience.
