As the Operations Manager, you will oversee production planning, scheduling, and day-to-day operations to meet sales, inventory, and quality targets. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, implement policies, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement, all while managing staff, capacity, budgeting, and strategic initiatives within the production cell. This position is located in the San Joaquin Valley area of California.
Compensation: $101,000 - $125,000
Key Responsibilities
- Directs the production and scheduling process according to sales volume, sales mix, inventory requirements, and materials availability.
- Plans day-to-day operations, assigns manpower, authorizes overtime, and controls costs.
- Monitors production yields daily and makes adjustments to maintain delivery schedules.
- Coordinates with production planning, supply, sales, engineering, and customer service to meet production standards and goals.
- Establishes and implements policies and procedures to achieve strategic operating goals.
- Performs capacity planning for equipment, floor space, and manpower based on forecasted workload.
- Builds and develops team approaches to problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Implements a cross-training model to maximize staffing availability and ensure adequate coverage across departments.
- Produces and maintains performance measures to identify strengths and weaknesses, driving efficiency improvements.
- Monitors, controls, and reports on capital expenditures relative to budgeted amounts.
- Handles administrative tasks including hiring, pay, budget administration, employee safety, counseling, and performance measurement.
- Participates in the business unit management team to develop strategic plans, budgets, and goals.
- Exercises authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, and safety.
- Carries out special projects as assigned and may perform cell production tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
- 3 or more years of demonstrated planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Proven project management experience spanning 5 years or more.
- 5 or more years of experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read, understand, and follow company instructions, processes, policies, and export compliance regulations.
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing, production, or MRO environment.
- Availability for after-hours on-call duties to respond to critical incidents or urgent situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with J85 series engines and components or other Jet Engine experience preferred.
- College diploma in engineering, business administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
