Job Description
Position Overview
Under general supervision, this full-time Software Developer role within the Information Technology Office Division – Product Lifecycle Services Section is responsible for developing and maintaining software, performing routine analysis and testing, and implementing business application solutions. Designed as a Work from Home (Remote) position, it supports the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s initiatives in Nashville, TN.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and maintain software applications in accordance with design specifications.
- Code, test, and troubleshoot programs to ensure proper functionality and error resolution.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to gather requirements and validate system changes.
- Document system changes, test plans, and technical specifications for continuity and compliance.
- Analyze and process data to support business operations and inform decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field; an accredited associate’s degree with additional professional experience may substitute.
- Minimum of one year of professional experience in systems analysis, application design, or software development.
- Ability to substitute graduate coursework or relevant experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Strong problem-solving, technical, and written communication skills.
