Position Overview

Our client, a leader in innovative manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Advanced Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their cutting-edge facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. This critical role focuses on optimizing and developing state-of-the-art manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will analyze current production methods, identify improvement areas, and implement new technologies including automation, additive manufacturing, and advanced materials. Collaborating with design, production, and quality control teams, you will drive process innovation and ensure seamless integration of new systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for production issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Develop and validate process parameters for new and existing products.
  • Implement and utilize statistical process control (SPC) to monitor and improve process stability.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with R&D, design, and production teams on new product introduction (NPI).
  • Evaluate and integrate advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., automation, robotics, additive manufacturing).
  • Create and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and SOPs.
  • Train production personnel on new processes and equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing process engineering.
  • Proven experience in process optimization, automation, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
  • Experience with data analysis and statistical software (e.g., Minitab).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
