we are looking for a talented Technical Writer & Documentation Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic individual to help our university create and maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation. The ideal candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer literacy, and an ability to think critically and analyze complex technical concepts. We are looking for a detail-oriented self-starter who is capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively within a team. The Technical Writer & Documentation Specialist will be responsible for writing and updating a variety of technical documents, including user guides, manuals, and help documents. This position requires a passion for producing high-quality work and a strong commitment to accuracy and precision. This role is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to help make a meaningful contribution to UCR.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and update a variety of technical documents, such as user guides, manuals, and help documents.
  • Ensure accuracy and precision of all documents.
  • Analyze complex technical concepts and communicate them in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the software and systems used at UCR.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure that technical documents are up to date and accurate.
  • Research industry trends and best practices in technical writing and documentations.
  • Manage and organize documents to ensure they are easily accessible.
  • Generate ideas for new documents and projects.
  • Assist with training and support of users on technical documentation.
  • Participate in the development of new processes and procedures to improve the efficiency of technical documentations.
