Job Description

Position Overview

As Nike’s Director and Assistant General Counsel, Sports Marketing, you will serve as counsel to Nike, Inc’s Global Sports Marketing team while managing a dynamic team of legal professionals at the Phil H. Knight Campus in Beaverton, Oregon. Reporting to the Senior Director, Assistant General Counsel, you will advise on complex endorsement and sponsorship agreements and build trusted relationships across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counsel to Nike, Inc’s Global Sports Marketing team across various sports and geographies.
  • Negotiate and draft complex contracts including endorsement, sponsorship, and partnership deals.
  • Manage and lead a team of legal professionals, ensuring high standards in legal and business excellence.
  • Develop and evolve legal strategies and processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Build trusted relationships with multiple stakeholders and communicate complex topics with clarity.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate degree.
  • Member in good standing with at least one U.S. State Bar and commitment to obtaining Oregon State Bar membership when applicable (confirm you saw this job posting on GoInhouse.com when applying).
  • 6+ years of law firm or relevant in-house experience, with multinational exposure as a plus.
  • Significant and proven transactional experience negotiating and drafting complex contracts, including sports or entertainment-specific agreements.
  • Proven client-facing presence with strong people management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
