Job Description

Position Overview

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) is seeking a Marketing Director for a hybrid role based in Boston, MA. In this role, you will develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the organization and its programs, overseeing multichannel campaigns, managing a team, and collaborating with senior leadership to enhance brand visibility and drive engagement. Compensation is $120,000 - $130,000 per year, dependent on experience and education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and update MassCEC’s marketing strategy, policies, and initiatives.
  • Develop and execute multichannel marketing programs, including content, social media, public events, sponsorships, advertising, and email campaigns.
  • Lead the marketing team, including managing direct reports and coordinating with external vendors.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Marketing & Communications, CEO, and other senior staff to strengthen MassCEC’s brand presence and support state climate goals.
  • Monitor marketing performance using analytics and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in strategic marketing planning and implementation.
  • Proven experience in rebranding initiatives and managing large-scale marketing projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of digital marketing analytics and SEO.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with government entities or state agencies.
  • Familiarity with the climatetech industry and its unique marketing challenges.
  • Knowledge of web development, design principles, and multimedia editing tools.
