Position Overview

Point of Sale (POS) & Network Technician. Location: New Orleans, LA. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Restaurant POS & Network Technician to support and maintain point-of-sale systems and network infrastructure across restaurant locations. This role is critical to daily operations—ensuring POS systems, online ordering, payment processing, and network connectivity remain fully functional during service hours. The ideal candidate understands the fast-paced restaurant environment and can troubleshoot issues quickly with minimal disruption to staff and guests. Salary: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour. Schedule: Field-based role with frequent on-site visits; evening, weekend, and holiday availability required; on-call support rotation may be required; ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and support restaurant POS systems (terminals, tablets, KDS, receipt printers, cash drawers, payment devices).
  • Troubleshoot POS issues during live service with urgency and professionalism.
  • Support restaurant technology such as online ordering, delivery integrations, loyalty programs, and KDS systems.
  • Install and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi access points, and structured cabling.
  • Diagnose and resolve internet, LAN, and Wi-Fi connectivity issues.
  • Perform system updates, backups, menu deployments, and software patches.
  • Coordinate with POS vendors, ISPs, and third-party delivery platforms for escalated issues.
  • Provide on-site support to managers and staff.
  • Assist with new restaurant openings, remodels, and technology rollouts.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; IT-related degree or certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting restaurant POS systems and networks.
  • Hands-on experience with restaurant POS platforms (e.g., Toast, Micros, Aloha, Square, Clover, Revel, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VLANs).
  • Experience troubleshooting printers, payment devices, and kitchen hardware.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in high-pressure service environments.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between restaurant locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting multi-unit restaurant operations.
  • Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and remote management tools.
  • Experience with Linux-based POS systems.
