Position Overview
A large oilfield services company in the Greenspoint area of Houston, Texas is seeking a Sr. Software Developer. This position is one of three onshore software developers focused on legacy application migration projects along with large web application projects across various lines of business. The role involves implementations, integrations, and migrations of web applications to microservices and/or the cloud. On a daily basis, the candidate will work with fellow developers, software architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to create proof of concept solutions, analyze current application infrastructure, propose and develop solutions based on requirements, and perform C#/.Net software development. The main responsibility is strong hands-on application development from scratch or modifications, as well as creating and implementing APIs while ensuring robust virtual machine and CI/CD pipeline infrastructure. Location: Houston, Texas. Schedule: Onsite 1-2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain web applications using C#/.Net.
- Migrate legacy systems to microservices and cloud-based solutions.
- Create and implement APIs to support business needs.
- Collaborate with software architects, product owners, and other developers to analyze requirements and propose effective solutions.
- Participate in proof of concept projects and infrastructure analysis to drive innovation.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in C#/.Net software development.
- Solid experience in creating and implementing APIs.
- Hands-on experience with legacy application migration and microservices architecture.
- Understanding of virtual machines and CI/CD pipeline infrastructure.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Must be local to Houston to accommodate onsite requirements 1-2 days per week.
