Job Description
Position Overview
The Senior Internal Auditor job serves as a team member on more complex audits working under the direction of audit leadership and management. Under minimal supervision, you will tackle diverse challenges by performing highly confidential and/or complex financial, operational, and integrated audits using the organization's risk-based internal auditing methodology.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed audit programs to review complex financial, operational, compliance, and risk systems ensuring alignment with internal policies and industry standards.
- Document audit outcomes with observations on the adequacy and effectiveness of the controls and processes audited.
- Serve as the lead expert on critical business areas, processes, systems, and/or regulations when required.
- Review and evaluate complex control structures to assess internal controls, operational efficiency, and customer service quality.
- Select appropriate audit methods and techniques, and network with senior personnel across groups to resolve issues and influence outcomes.
- Communicate audit results and recommendations directly with senior management.
- Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills and leverage data analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Python) for effective audits.
- Collaborate with data analytics and IT specialists to implement advanced testing methods.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Audit, Risk, Compliance, Public Accounting, Controls Testing and/or Data Analytics
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Audit, Risk, Compliance, Public Accounting, Controls Testing and/or Data Analytics
- CPA or CIA certification
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel) and TeamMate
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking abilities
- University degree is preferred
