Position Overview

Growth oriented multi-disciplined Mechanical Contracting firm is currently seeking an Information Technology/Building Automation Specialist to join our expanding staff and be an active member of our building automation solutions team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified IT professional looking to grow into building automation and control solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers at all levels to resolve IT-related issues and provide timely solutions
  • Train and support users of automation systems
  • Layout and design building automation systems for schools, office buildings, government buildings, and hospitals
  • Manage building automation IT projects from inception through completion
  • Program building automation systems to specified sequences of operations
  • Customize graphical screens to display building operations for end-user maintenance
  • Create all project documentation in CAD
  • Purchase and set up hardware and software for customers and maintain inventory, including tracking software licenses
  • Administer hardware replacement programs and retire hardware post-replacement
  • Participate in infrastructure system administration, including updates and modifications
  • Provide and schedule required reports
  • Manage relationships with IT providers and vendors related to Building Automation
  • Assist in evaluating new software and hardware for customers
  • Backup systems

Required Qualifications

  • Availability to work outside normal business hours on occasion
  • Ability to use or be trained in graphical software programs
  • Familiarity with standard hand and electrical tools used in the controls business
  • Strong organizational skills, priority setting, and independent judgment
  • Punctuality and dependable attendance habits
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of trade information
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Professional appearance
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare clear, concise reports and correspondence
