Job Description

Position Overview

Collects, validates, analyzes, and organizes data into meaningful reports for management decision making as well as designing, developing, testing, and deploying reports to provider networks and other end users for operational and strategic analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide direct oversight of the Healthcare Analytics Team and its activities, including staff time keeping, performance coaching, development, and career paths.
  • Daily management of the Healthcare Analytics team and allocation of new report/project requests.
  • Coordinate with Health Plan departments to meet data analysis and database development needs.
  • Review, evaluate, and improve Company business logic and data sources.
  • Mentor and coach Health Plan staff on analytics and reporting questions.
  • Review Health Plan analyst work products to ensure accuracy and clarity.
  • Assess regulatory reporting requirements and Health Plan project documentation.
  • Maintain reporting service level benchmarks for the Healthcare Analytics team.
  • Represent the Healthcare Analytics department in cross-departmental and operational meetings.
  • Serve as liaison between Corporate IT and the Health Plan regarding reporting needs.
  • Develop reports for strategic analysis, profitability, financial analysis, utilization patterns, and medical management.
  • Foster positive interactions with both Health Plan and Corporate personnel.
  • Manage the Health Plan Encounter workflow process.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of management or team leadership experience.
  • Approximately 10 years of work experience in a claims processing and/or healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL 2005/2008 and SSRS report development.
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts and SDLC methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3 - 5 years of supervisory experience.
