Position Overview
Interface Engineering Inc., a 100% employee-owned company, is excited to offer a hybrid Mechanical Engineer/Designer II/III position with a Collaboration from Home policy. Based in Portland, OR, this role allows you to work from home 3 days per week and in-office or on-site 2 days per week. You will join a multi-disciplined team driving innovative engineering solutions in commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality, biotech, transportation and more. Key Responsibilities
- Participate as a critical member of a multi-disciplinary engineering and design team, taking a leadership role under the supervision of a Senior Mechanical Engineer and/or PE.
- Perform HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing designs for various industries using Revit.
- Work under the guidance of a PE with oversight, scheduling, task delegation, and mentorship responsibilities.
- Engage in project management including planning for scope, schedule, budget, and discipline coordination.
- Ensure project delivery, client satisfaction, and repeat business through effective client management.
- Manage project financials to perform work within budget.
Required Qualifications
- BSME or equivalent experience.
- 4-10 years of MEP/AEC design and consulting experience.
- Experience with HVAC load calculations and duct sizing.
- Proficiency with Revit documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple functions in a fluid, multi-deadline environment.
- Strong teamwork skills and effective communication and time management.
Preferred Qualifications
- PE licensed or interest in obtaining licensure.
- EIT certification or desire to pursue certification.
- LEED accreditation or interest in obtaining accreditation.
- Working knowledge of energy modeling software (EnergyPlus, Trane Trace).
