Electrical Engineer
Bakersfield, CA | Full-Time
We are seeking Electrical Engineer with varied skills to join a multidisciplinary engineering and consulting team delivering infrastructure, environmental, and energy-related projects across California’s Central Valley. This role is well-suited for an engineer who enjoys technically diverse work, collaboration across disciplines, and involvement from concept through construction.
What You’ll Do
- Design and analyze electrical systems for industrial, infrastructure, and energy projects, including power distribution, motor control, lighting, and controls.
- Prepare electrical drawings, calculations, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Perform load studies, equipment sizing, and electrical system evaluations in accordance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, NESC, and California Title 24.
- Coordinate designs with civil, mechanical, and structural engineering teams.
- Interface with clients, utilities, contractors, and permitting agencies.
- Support projects during bidding, construction, and commissioning.
- Conduct site visits, field assessments, and construction observations as needed.
- Review work of junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of standards and practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree: in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- EIT: required; California PE preferred or ability to obtain.
- 3+ years: of electrical engineering experience in consulting, infrastructure, industrial, or energy-related projects.
- Proficiency: with AutoCAD and/or Revit; experience with power system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower) is a plus.
- Experience: with Instrumentation would also be a plus.
- Strong understanding: of electrical codes, standards, and safety practices.
- Excellent communication skills: and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Nice to Have
- Experience with public-sector or utility projects.
- Exposure to renewable energy, substations, or industrial facilities.
- Construction administration or field support experience.
- Familiarity with California permitting and regulatory processes.
