Job Description

Position Overview

We’re seeking a Principal Data Analyst to turn complex workforce data into clear, actionable insights. This senior individual contributor role builds intuitive dashboards and AI-powered data products that drive self-service and storytelling at scale. In this role, you won’t just report the numbers – you’ll create the narrative behind them, enabling leaders to understand not only what is happening but why it matters and what comes next.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Strategic Reporting & Dashboard Development: Design intuitive dashboards (Tableau, Power BI, GCP) that enable self-service, proactively surface insights, and embed trusted logic and context.
  • Build Scalable & Reliable Data Foundations: Transform complex data into clean, automated pipelines and collaborate with engineers to deliver dynamic, AI-enhanced reporting experiences.
  • Drive Data Consistency & Alignment: Ensure data reliability by standardizing definitions across teams, resolving disconnects early, and championing governance practices.
  • Tell Stories That Influence: Transform data into compelling narratives through visualization and storytelling to empower confident decision-making.
  • Integrate AI for Smarter Insights: Leverage AI to scale insights with features like natural language summaries and anomaly detection while maintaining clarity and speed.
  • Lead Through Influence: Build trust across teams and drive adoption by influencing decisions without direct authority.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years in data analytics, BI, or people analytics within large, complex environments.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, BigQuery).
  • Proficient in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with automation and data processing tools (e.g., Alteryx, Dataiku, Python) and familiarity with integrating AI features into reporting workflows.
  • Strong business insight with a deep understanding of how workforce data informs decisions across HR, Finance, and Operations.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex analysis for senior audiences coupled with strong visual storytelling skills.
  • Experience navigating matrixed, enterprise-scale organizations and influencing without direct authority.
  • Minimum Qualifications: Either (Option 1) a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field with 4 years’ experience; (Option 2) a Master’s degree in a related field with 2 years’ experience; or (Option 3) 6 years’ experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Related industry experience (e.g., retail, merchandising, healthcare, eCommerce).
  • Successful completion of assessments in data analysis, BI tools, and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, R, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with HR systems like Workday and a background in workforce planning, HR transformation, or financial headcount planning.
  • Exposure to high-volume, operationally complex environments.

Benefits & Perks

  • Compensation: Annual salary range of $90,000.00-$180,000.00, plus additional performance-based bonuses and Stock options.
  • Health Benefits: Medical, vision, and dental coverage.
  • Financial Benefits: 401(k), stock purchase, and company-paid life insurance.
  • Time Off: PTO (including sick leave, parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting) along with PPTO for vacation, sick leave or holidays.
