Key Responsibilities
Exceptional analytical skills, problem solving, communication, and creativity form the foundation for success at Secretariat.
- Supporting hands-on failure investigations including comparison of as-built and existing conditions with the design
- Performing field and laboratory testing
- Assisting with field inspections
- Performing calculations
- Conducting research and data analysis
- Reviewing, sorting, and summarizing relevant documentation
- Drafting supporting verbiage for reports
- Helping with the creation of demonstratives
- Analyzing technical reports and developing concurring or rebuttal positions
- Assisting with client communications across all time zones
- Developing positive relationships with colleagues, peers, and clients
- Managing workload to meet simultaneous project milestones while maintaining schedules and budgets
- Engaging in guided and self-directed professional development through formal and informal training
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Mechanical, Civil, Building Science/Architectural, Chemical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- 1+ years of prior experience in forensic/root cause analysis
- Pursuing Professional Engineering (PE) credentials is a plus
- Proven analytical and problem resolution abilities
- Excellent listening, verbal, written, technical, and presentation skills
- Proficient technical writing skills to complement analytical work
- Ability to quickly assimilate information and devise creative solutions in complex situations
- Strong time management and resource prioritization skills under competing deadlines
- Experience managing external stakeholders and working independently while escalating key issues to senior staff
- A passion for supporting or leading auxiliary tasks in a rapidly growing practice
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
- Working proficiency in a second non-English language is a plus
