Firstmark Collections Recovery Specialist II - Remote - Start 5/19

Position Overview

Nelnet is a diversified and innovative company committed to enriching lives through the power of service. With over 40 years of experience, Nelnet serves as a student loan servicer, professional services company, consumer loan originator, payments processor, renewable energy solutions provider, and educational expert. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting delinquent student loans to protect assets – performing manual outbound collection attempts via an auto-dialer and handling a portion of incoming calls.

Key Responsibilities

• Commit to Performance Based Organization (PBO) & Easy To Do Business With (ETDBW) philosophy
• Contribute to Continuous Process Improvement
• Contact borrowers via telephone, mail, and email to establish payment arrangements for rectifying outstanding delinquencies
• Determine the most appropriate plan of action to resolve past due accounts using strong negotiation skills
• Provide pertinent account and history information to educate borrowers about the seriousness of their delinquency
• Update demographic and additional information on borrower accounts via the servicing system
• Perform additional collection activities related to collections documents and reports

Required Qualifications

• Must reside within a 60-mile radius of Lincoln, NE, Brownsville, TX, or Atlanta, GA
• High school degree or equivalent required

• 2 years of customer service, collection, and general work experience
