Job Description

Position Overview

NYU Tulsa is seeking a local, part-time instructor to teach "The American Clean Energy Industry: Case Study Tulsa" in Spring 2026 (January 21 - May 8, 2026). The course, sponsored by NYU Abu Dhabi and part of the Engineering curriculum, will be taught in English over 15 in-person instructional weeks and is designed for a mix of undergraduate and interdisciplinary majors. The instructor will design the course in collaboration with NYU Abu Dhabi, prepare and deliver classes, grade student work, and hold at least one office hour per week. This course explores the global and American energy industries, transitioning from fossil fuels to green energy through scientific, economic, policy, and ethical lenses, with a focus on Tulsa’s significant role in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design the course in close collaboration with NYU Abu Dhabi.
  • Prepare and deliver all scheduled classes.
  • Grade student work in a timely manner.
  • Hold at least one office hour per week.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in the energy industry.
  • University-level teaching experience (ideally two to three years) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the United States at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interdisciplinary and project-based approaches to teaching.
  • Experience working with undergraduate students.
  • A terminal degree (Education: PhD, JD, MPS, MBA in Engineering, Energy Management, Sustainability, or a related field) is a plus.
