Job Description

Position Overview

Legal Support Analyst 1 (Entry Level Legal Support) – This entry-level role supports the Department of Justice Criminal Fraud Section by enhancing document management skills and providing litigation support. In this dynamic position, you will assist Health Care Fraud attorneys with case management, document review, indexing, and preparation for witness interviews, depositions, and trial support, gaining hands-on experience with automated litigation support and eDiscovery tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform moderately complex litigation support tasks including detailed review and analysis of case materials, indexing case files, drafting procedures, document acquisition, and database searches.
  • Proofread and edit deliverable products.
  • Sometimes serve as a "team leader" for a group of Document Management Technicians and clerical support staff.
  • Work with minimal supervision while reporting to the Task or Project Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • One year of experience on major litigation support projects or an undergraduate degree.
  • Experience or substantial undergraduate coursework in finance/accounting, health care, legal environment, or information technology is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a team environment.
  • Excellent writing skills and oral communication capabilities.
  • Hands-on familiarity with the Government’s office and network environment, including PC-based databases and document review platforms (e.g., Oracle, Relativity, Trial Director).
  • Proficiency in office automation tools such as word processing, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automated litigation support.
  • Ability to perform quality control analysis and report data issues.
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused and professional attitude, particularly when working on-site with government clients.
  • eDiscovery experience, including document review and familiarity with Relativity.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
