Position Overview
WORK LOCATION: This position allows for a hybrid/flexible work schedule with a mix of on‐site work at the Sargent & Lundy office and remote work from home. You will utilize and expand your academic background in Power Systems to provide power system modeling and analytical support for interdisciplinary project teams. This role supports the interconnection of new power generation resources – including onshore/offshore wind, solar PV, battery energy storage, traditional thermal generation, transmission/distribution planning, new power plant design (thermal and renewable), modifications to existing facilities, power system protection, and the integration of advanced technologies such as electric vehicles, microgrids, and green hydrogen production. You will conduct studies including Power Flow, Short Circuit, Protection Coordination, Arc Flash, Transient and Dynamic Stability, Transient Over-voltage, Power Quality and Harmonics, System Impact, Cable Ampacity, and Grounding, as well as electricity market studies and generation planning expansion with expected load growth scenarios. Occasional travel to client offices and project sites for on-site consultation is expected.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a strong emphasis on Power Systems Analysis (MSEE or Ph.D. is preferred)
- 1 or more years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree
- Understanding of the practical application of electrical engineering principles in project design
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively and guide others

Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or work experience in performing power analysis, preferably within the power industry
- Experience with power system analysis software such as PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSLF, TARA, CYME, Synergi, ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, or EMTP-RV
- Strong working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, with designation as an Engineer in Training
