Job Description

Position Overview

Our Belmont, MA office is looking for an Environmental Graphic Designer to join our team of partners, principals, design directors, and graphic designers. You will work on branding, placemaking, wayfinding and digital experience projects for academic campuses, healthcare facilities, mixed-use developments, entertainment districts, corporate offices, and municipal improvement projects. This hybrid role requires 2 days per week in the Belmont office and remote work on other days, fostering both office culture and collaborative work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as a point of contact on projects for clients and vendors
  • Preparing documentation and management of wayfinding, signage and environmental graphic projects
  • Generation of design intent documents, message schedules, sign programming, and sign location plans
  • Supervising fabrication and installation
  • Project management and administration
  • Project travel for meetings, presentations, and site visits
  • Preparing punchlists at project completion
  • Coordination of vendors and subcontractors
  • Construction, contract, and production management including detailed drawings
  • Performing other various tasks as needed

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in the design or architecture industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong self-direction and time management skills
  • Required college degree (BA minimum)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Trimble SketchUp, and Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of budget management
  • Ability to read architectural construction documents and shop drawings
  • Knowledge about products, production methods, fabrication, and installation
  • Must be local to the Boston area and able to drive to site visits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Sign Agent is a plus
  • CAD and 3D experience is a plus
