Job Description
Position Overview
Staples is business to business. You're what binds us together. In this high velocity sales role, you will hunt within a defined territory to prospect and win net new small to medium business customers, ramp and onboard newly won accounts, and expand our customer base by leveraging phone, video, face-to-face interactions, and digital tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Exhibit effective appointment setting skills and set the required number of appointments each week with the correct decision makers.
- Utilize effective selling skills along with professional selling techniques.
- Discover prospects’ incremental and programmatic needs and communicate Staples’ value propositions, capabilities, products, and assortments across all categories.
- Overcome objections and close sales, using prescribed selling tools (e.g., Priority List, Tenfold, SFDC) to document customer engagement.
- Collaborate internally with customer support, set-up teams, and category specialists to progress deals and comply with new account/program standards.
- Integrate feedback from prospects to refine sales approaches and create sticky accounts that continue to purchase from Staples.
- Manage new customer assortment, pricing, and maintain professional daily communications with prospects in person and face to face.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of successful sales experience or success as a Staples B2B Sales Associate.
- 3+ years of experience in PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong drive, an aversion to complacency, and a proven ability to turn rejection into learning opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision and succeed in a competitive, goal-oriented environment.
- Excellent presentation, consultative selling, and client management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
- Industry knowledge is a plus.
