Position Overview

This is a full-time sales role responsible for the full sales cycle including opportunity generation, qualification, coordination of resources required to sell, completion of company sales processes, contract negotiation, and project follow-up. The position reports to the Director of Automation Sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline of qualified leads through customer inquiries, research on targeted accounts and market segments, and leveraging personal networks.
  • Partner with customers to develop long-term relationships, generate additional sales, and guide problem resolution discussions.
  • Develop monthly and weekly sales plans that include prospecting activities and forecasts.
  • Sell to multiple levels of decision makers within mid-to-large companies at both technical and business levels.
  • Participate in consultative pre-sale meetings to capture customer needs and vision.
  • Create technical and commercial proposals based on customer specifications.
  • Conduct technical presentations and proposal clarification meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal technical resources to develop systems and solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Manage all aspects of the quoting process including estimating, design, presentation, acceptance, and implementation.
  • Regularly update the CRM to track leads, quotes, and orders while maintaining accurate customer information.
  • Negotiate contracts with customers.
  • Coordinate with engineering and operations for project handover, implementation, estimation, and planning of deployment at customer sites.
  • Support job implementation by attending planning meetings and reviewing designs.
  • Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of industry trends, customer expectations, and competitor activities.
  • Represent the company as a technical resource at workshops, trade shows, and other marketing events.
  • Build and sustain customer relationships by responding promptly to emails, answering phone calls, and making customer visits within the assigned area.
  • Travel regularly to visit customers and prospects.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or at least five years of experience selling industrial capital equipment, or as an engineer.
  • Experience solving complex problems with automation.
  • Strong understanding of the application of material handling and engineered products.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Superior analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with CRM software and familiarity with CAD is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile to complete the sale.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mechanical or Industrial Engineering background, preferred.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary: $75,000 - 115,000 base salary, with eligibility for commission. The final offer will consider factors including experience and geographic location.
