Entry Level Structural CAD Technician

Position Overview

Are we the road to your future? Volkert is currently searching for an experienced Entry Level Structural CAD Technician to support our Southwest Region. Location: Texas. Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to engineers using OpenBridge Designer to create bridge detail plans and perform minor design work on bridge projects.
• Contribute to project production sheets by adding dimensions and laying out plans, titles, and detail sheets on production sets of plans.
• Implement TxDOT Bridge Detailing Manual and TxDOT Bridge Standards.
• Coordinate assignments with the project team and supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Be a team player and assist other groups as needed.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications

• Associate degree from a technical or four-year school.
• 0-3 years of prior experience with structural and/or roadway drafting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or a similar field is preferred.
• Experience in OpenRoad Designer is preferred.
• Experience with Autodesk products is a plus.
