With moderate supervision, the Retail Keyholder assists the store management team in executing and supervising all store activities. They provide outstanding guest service within a sales culture that utilizes GameStop's Circle of Life buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model, ensuring products are accessible, boosting sales through product and gaming knowledge, maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment, and fostering guest loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service by promptly greeting guests, addressing their questions or concerns, assisting in meeting video gaming needs, informing about promotions and the trade-in program, recommending additional items, and expressing gratitude for choosing GameStop.
- Support the overall shopping environment including visual and operational elements while nurturing guest relationships that drive sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Address guest comments or questions in person or via phone with courtesy and professionalism.
- Promote GameStop's unique guest benefits such as the title reservations program and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Ensure all store areas, including restrooms, are clean, organized, and merchandised according to guidelines; verify that store fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Safeguard company assets through effective inventory control, loss prevention practices, scam awareness, and making bank deposits as required.
- Conduct inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are organized and presented correctly on the selling floor.
- Support store management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals while completing required administrative and operational tasks.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system, complete closeout paperwork, and assist in ensuring sufficient cash for sales transactions, including making bank deposits.
- Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages and report them to the appropriate management personnel.
- Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately, ensuring proper labeling and packing lists are included.
- Visually inspect associates' and leaders' packages or belongings at store closing or shift end.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
- Follow all opening and closing procedures and consistently adhere to GameStop policies, including those in the Associate Handbook and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.
- Exceptional guest service skills.
- Provide genuine and friendly assistance to every guest during each visit.
- Demonstrate clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in person and over the phone.
- Work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Meet associate performance expectations, including attendance, professional dress, and grooming requirements.
- Operate the POS computer system and properly complete the required paperwork.
- Possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and alphabetizing skills.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work as a team to complete necessary tasks in a timely manner.
- Possess problem-solving skills and sound judgment abilities.
- Follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.
- Work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum of 3 days/week availability).
- Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately.
- Bend, stoop, reach with arms/hands, climb ladders, and lift merchandise weighing up to 30 lbs. from ground level to a minimum height of 4 feet.
- Stand and move throughout the store unassisted to provide guest service or perform tasks for up to 10 hours per day.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience.
- Video game knowledge.
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking and writing skills are preferred.
