Lead Machinist​/Programmer

Position Overview

Location: Indianapolis
ISSI, a machine shop and engineering firm on the southwest side of Indianapolis, is looking for a lead machinist and programmer to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to program parts in Siemens NX CAM and machine them across a variety of large and small CNC machines. The programming and machining work will range from simple and small parts, all the way up to large assemblies. Key Responsibilities

• As the lead machinist, provide technical support and training for other machinists.
• Process jobs and create CAM programs for CNC lathes and 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills using Siemens NX.
• Set up machines, prove out programs, and perform FAIR; in some cases, complete the entire job or hand it off to another machinist.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment.
• Enforce quality control measures to ensure parts meet print specifications.
• Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of machining experience.
• Minimum 5 years of programming experience using CAM software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
