Job Description
Position Overview
Job Title: Radar Engineer. Join our dynamic team at Caliber Sales Engineering as a Radar Engineer specializing in TPS-43/70/72/75/78, FPS-117, TPS-77, TPS-59 systems. You will be involved in the design, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and regulatory compliance of advanced radar technologies used in defense and civil applications. Reports to Technical Director. Schedule: Full-time, standard business hours with potential for domestic and international travel (valid passport required).
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and analyze technical specifications, capabilities, and limitations of various radar and SATCOM systems.
- Apply radar principles, including antenna design, signal processing, target detection, tracking algorithms, and data interpretation.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in radar systems through comprehensive site surveys, detailed documentation, and coordination with local suppliers.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the reliability and longevity of radar systems.
- Provide technical field support by offering assistance and guidance to operators and maintenance teams, including addressing atmospheric and hardware challenges.
- Plan and integrate system upgrades by identifying performance gaps, proposing enhancements, and conducting rigorous testing and validation.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with industry standards (e.g., FCC regulations, ITAR) and maintain thorough documentation of modifications and upgrades.
- Develop and deliver training programs and materials for radar operators and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in radar systems are advantageous.
- Experience Required: Ten (10) years of related technical experience in radar systems.
- Qualifications: Proficiency in radar theory, antenna design, signal processing, and performance analysis; strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills; must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain security clearance; capable of meeting physical requirements including standing, climbing stairs, and carrying up to 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous military experience in a related field is a plus.
- Bi-lingual abilities are an advantage.
