POSITION SUMMARY (Onsite in Miami, FL): The Process Engineer drives continuous improvement through design, operation, standardization, and control of processes. Working under the guidance of the Program Management Office (PMO) and Senior Process Engineers, you will consult with internal and external clients—shore side and shipboard—to define needs, analyze data, redesign processes, and implement Lean methodologies that enhance business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process development, improvement, and standardization across Program and Project Management following Lean philosophies.
- Develop Lean methods and tools to meet customer requirements and address critical process features.
- Organize, moderate, and document internal and external workshops to refine processes, manage project planning, and implement changes.
- Consult with Program and Project Management on alternative solutions, providing specific recommendations for problem resolution.
- Apply analytical techniques to drive improvements that enhance quality, reduce costs, or increase revenue.
- Identify root causes of performance defects through data analysis and direct process observation.
- Utilize industrial engineering principles to assess work method proposals and offer management recommendations.
- Establish a feedback culture, driving follow-up actions and integrating learnings into future plans.
- Monitor strategic and operational Key Performance Indicators to pinpoint enhancement opportunities.
- Manage PMO knowledge sharing and benchmark processes within and beyond the maritime industry.
- Collaborate with counterparts across various business areas to ensure cohesive process improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Construction Management, or equivalent field with a minimum of 5-7 years of related work experience.
- Proven experience in process improvement, including the establishment of Lean Management and basic project/risk management.
- Demonstrated ability in workshop moderation, team management, and driving measurable results through process redesign and data-driven decision making.
- Advanced analytical skills including data analysis, mathematical modeling, and familiarity with industrial engineering methodologies (e.g., queuing theory, simulation, statistics).
- Strong organizational, presentation, facilitation, and change management skills with the ability to collaborate within multicultural environments.
- Proficient in using Windows-based applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
