Job Description

Position Overview

As a Strategic Sourcing Management Trainee at BNSF Railway, you will embark on a dynamic pathway in procurement and supply chain management. This full-time role is located in Fort Worth, TX, with the possibility of one remote workday per week. Compensation: $70,000. Relocation is required if you reside more than 50 miles from the location. Training begins with a company orientation in Fort Worth followed by hands-on project work that hones your leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in an initial orientation and receive on‐the‐job training according to your assigned group.
  • Interact with internal customers and suppliers regarding required specifications, pricing, availability, and delivery of ad hoc/non-catalog procurement requests.
  • Perform corrective actions related to supplier purchase orders or contract non-compliance.
  • Support service and material buyers with ad hoc reporting and special project initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely contract management in executing agreements.
  • Exhibit leadership, effective teamwork, clear communication, adaptability, and resilience to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Conduct daily work within an indoor office environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire.
  • No need for BNSF’s sponsorship now or in the future (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or a similar field from an accredited university.
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
  • Have less than three (3) years of professional work experience, excluding internships, part-time roles, or positions held during academic studies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or work experience (less than 3 years) in Supply Chain Management or Finance.
  • Experience holding a leadership position in campus, community, or extracurricular organizations.
  • Pursuing or holding a degree in Supply Chain Management or Finance.
