Job Description
Position Overview
As a Financial Analyst (Entry Level) at Cascade—a growing private equity firm in the health care industry managing over $3b in assets and closing about $1b in transactions over the past year—you will be an integral member of the finance team. In this role, you will evaluate new opportunities, perform monthly analysis on Cascade’s expanding portfolio of health care real estate (skilled nursing and assisted living), and develop key skills in valuation, business strategy, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform credit analysis and benchmarking of key performance metrics.
- Assist in the development and production of proposals and presentations.
- Interact with members of corporate management teams and financial sponsors.
- Support the team by assessing new deal opportunity memorandums, ensuring closing and accurate funding of loans, performing annual reviews, and assembling analytical reports.
- Analyze new loan opportunities, property operating performance, and financial health through review of tax returns, financial data, and market data.
- Provide due diligence support by gathering critical data, preparing market analyses, and performing property-level financial evaluations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to meeting tight deadlines.
- Monthly: Work with operator financials to determine significant P&L variances, perform ad hoc revenue and expense analysis—including analysis of non-financial market trends—and assist the underwriting department in assessing acquisition opportunities.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- 0-3 years of relevant full-time work experience in finance, accounting, business, real estate, or healthcare.
- A BA/BS with demonstrated coursework in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, or related subjects (or analytical work experience in lieu of formal coursework).
- Passion for health system strategy and finance.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including experience in valuation, financial modeling, and analysis.
- Knowledge of various data mining techniques to generate business insight.
- Advanced skills in Excel (macros, VBA).
